On Letting Go: Fashion a La Mode Link Up

Holding on to anything is like holding on to your breath. You will suffocate. The only way to get anything in the physical universe is by letting go of it. Let go & it will be yours forever.

I’ve been a bad blogger this week. I haven’t joined any link ups. I haven’t commented on other blogs, and my social media sharing is to a minimum. And, well, #sorryimnotsorry. The truth is, I had an awful week last week, and by Friday I found myself crying in the bathroom at work wondering where and how I had gone wrong with EVERYTHING.  So I called one of my good friends, Amber, and she set me straight.

“You’re doing too much, Lisa.”

And she was right. Maintaining this blog, my household, my son, my youtube channel, and my Stella & Dot Business is catching up with me. So this week, I decided to focus on finding the right balance. The right mix of online life and real life. I’m not exactly sure HOW I’ll manage to do this, but I’m almost certain that I may go down to one to two posts a week.  This mama is tired!

So in honor of my journey towards a peaceful melange of real life and blogger life, I bring you, Jackson Blaise.

We match. I know.

Merci Beaucoup.

Well Hello! My name is Lisa and you’ve stumbled upon my own little corner of the world. I’m a lipstick-loving, high heel junkie, mom, and wife. When I’m not here bringing you the latest in beauty, fashion, hot topics, and bits and pieces of my life with my family, you can find me over on youtube swatching lipsticks and sharing my latest natural hairstyles. Make sure you also follow me on Instagram and Snapchat under my brand name Lisa A La Mode. I’m a real person. I promise.

  1. Aww, you both look so cute! Jackson is adorable. Take care of yourself and don’t fall victim to burn out. Thanks for continuing to host your weekly link-up, Lisa.

  2. I hear you girl, I hit a point like this too. I had to evaluate and do what works for me, I’m not big into social media and I set aside just a couple days a week that I peruse blogs, I love doing all of those things, but I had let it consume me which just wasn’t ideal, so blogging just a couple days a week is fabulous if you ask me!!

  3. I hope that you’re off to an awesome week! I totally understand having one of those crying spells. Although I am not a mother nor a wife yet, but being in school (taking 18 credits), different clubs, and other things life can get super crazy! There was a time when I would feel bad when I did not blog multiple posts a week, but I learned that I couldn’t do everything. You are fantastic Lisa and make sure that you give yourself a break sometimes 🙂

  4. Lisa, I totally understand where you are coming from! I have been searching for that right balance the past couple of months and still am tweaking it. I had to admit to myself a few weeks ago that I too was trying to do too much! Even though I pride myself on my level of productivity and my multitasking skills, when you try to do TOO much, nothing ends up getting done effectively and I like to put my whole heart into everything that I do. It was hard to admit my limits, but it feels better than beating myself up because I can’t reach unrealistic expectations! Glad this is a better week for you and your little man is just the cutest!

  5. Hope you have better days ahead Lisa! I totally understand. I am a mother of two, wife, full-time employee and I am maintaining a blog and taking online classes for Makeup Artistry, so I know exactly what you mean. Just learn not feel bad if you don’t post or upload on the regular. Its ok!!!! I have found myself not blogging a week or two straight, but I learn to be ok with that because this is my fun, happy place and if I act as though it is a job, it will not be as fun and exciting anymore.
