The ONLY Natural Hair Product You Need This Summer: SheaMoisture’s Curl Enhancing Smoothie

Why You Need SheaMoisture’s Curling Enhancing Smoothie As a Part of Your Summer Natural Hair Routine

Summer hair can be quite the challenge for the Naturalista. Humidity can really do a number on our hair, which is why I’m a firm believer in “less is more.” Using Heavy styling products will leave your hair with tons of build-up and frizz, especially during the summer. That’s why I rely on a product that delivers both soft hold and shine: SheaMoisture’s Coconut & Hibiscus Curling Curl Enhancing Smoothie.

I routinely purchase my favorite SheaMoisture products from my local Walmart. It’s inexpensive, convenient, and Walmart always has what I need. It’s also really easy to place your order right on Walamart.com, and pick it up a few hours later using the free-in store pick up option.

Be sure to check the general haircare isle. You’ll find even more SheaMoisture products there.

You really can’t go wrong with with any of SheaMoisture’s haircare products, but I do have an affinity for the Coconut Hibiscus Line. It smells like candy, the products are made with Natural and Certified Organic Ingredients, and you can mix and match them to suit your hair needs. The Curl Enhancing Smoothie is a staple in my year-round hair routine, but during the summer I also I like to use the Hold & Shine Mist when setting my hair, then I  Sometimes add the Curling Gel Souffle for extra shine once my hair is dry.

  1. Start with blow-dried hair. For this style, I applied a dime-sized amount of Curl Enhancing Smoothie to each section before twisting and setting the hair on perm rods.

I use Shea Moisture but the Coconut & Hibiscus Curling Smoothie dries too quickly for my hair to absorb it and leaves a film on it. Even for a light finger dab of product. My hair is low porosity so it takes longer for water, oils, any product to penetrate my hair shaft. I do adore Jamaican Black Castor Oil Leave-In Conditioner. That actually helps to set my curl and stays “wet” long enough to penetrate my hair leaving it soft with a nice sheen. I wish the Coconut and Hibiscus behaved like the Jamaican Black Castor Oil because I Love the CHCS scent.
