How to Keep it Cute While Doing Everyday Stuff

I know it seems like I’m always “slaying,” the fashion, but truth be told, I’m in flats and low-fuss outfits 95% of the time. I’m a mom, wife, and a business owner. Ain’t nobody got time to be running around in 4 inch heels trying to get stuff done. However, I take pride in being able to pull myself together and look cute, even while running errands.

Case and point: Last weekend while shopping at the Union Square Farmer’s Market in Somerville, MA.

DRESS: BUY HERE. HAT: BUY HERE.

I knew from the night before that I’d be heading to the market in the morning to shop for fresh produce and flowers. My photogographer, Jess, from Jmp Image was free that day she opted to tag along. Now, I could have gone all out and wore some ridiculous, but fabulous outfit, but nah. I wanted to keep it real and really show you all how I get down on the weekends.

How to Keep it Cute While Doing Everyday Stuff

  1. If weather permits, wear a dress. Who has time to be mixing and matching and trying stuff on just to run errands? No me. So I like to wear ready-made outfits. In the summer, that means a dress or a romper. In the winter it means jeans or joggers and a long wool coat.  stylish-outfits-for-running-errands6
  2. Wear a Hat and/or a Protective Style.  Wether your hair is naturally curly, kinky, wavy, or straight, you can’t go wrong with a style that will keep your hair out of your face. You do not want to be thinking about your hair when you’re out running errands. So I do 2 things:  1.  I wear a hat like this one from Forever 21,  and 2.  I style my hair in a protective style, like this cute jumbo twist. 3. Wear flats or sneakers. It’s too hot to wear sneakers right now, but I live in them in the colder months. For summer errands, flats are a must. stylish-outfits-for-running-errands4

P.S. If you’re in the area stop by and see the guy from Fox Point Pickles. He’s a riot and the pickles are delish.  stylish-outfits-for-running-errands5

4. Don’t OD on Jewelry. As you can see here, I’m keeping it pretty simple. Just studs and stacked necklaces.

5. Keep makeup minimal and wear sunglasses (if you’re going to be outside, of course).  My fav running-errands makeup consists of:

  • Ruby Kiss Aqua Bb 8 in 1 Multi Function in Meduim Dark. Buy Yours HERE.
  • SheaMoisture Selfie Duo Powder in Dark. Buy yours HERE.
  • NYX Liquid Suede Lipstick in Soft Spoken. Buy Yours HERE.

Let’s recap, shall we? Want to keep it cute while running errands? Wear a Hat, Wear shades, Style hair in a low-fuss protective style, and Keep makeup minimal.

  3. You look awesome! I love the simple and gorgeous dressing of yours. I like to wear simple shift dresses because I think those are the easiest clothing in the world and appropriate for most work environments. And also it still looks good even if my weight is up or down a few pounds.
