Jelani Maraj, 37, is currently facing charges for allegedly repeatedly raping and sodomizing a 12-year-old girl over a period of 8 months, with the last assault occurring the day before he was arrested.  If you recall, Remy Ma alluded to Nicki’s supposed support of her brother in her diss track, Shether (Click HERE to listen). In it, Remy Ma spits:

Guess who supports a child molester? Nicki Minaj
You paid for your brother’s wedding? That’s hella foul
How you spendin’ money to support a pedophile?….

Talkin’ about your money long and your foreign sick
Why you ain’t help your bro hide his cum from forensics?
You probably somewhere overseas, foreign sick
Thought you could fuck with me, by far Rem sick
Meek, Drake, Safaree, I see men in your pants
We call that Jelani, get it? Semen in your pants

Nicki Minaj is said to have put up his $100,000 bond when Maraj was arrested in December 2015, and is also said to be paying for his legal fees.

Last month,  Maraj’s attornies filed a request to ask the judge to give them access to evidence regarding the 12 year-old’s sexual history. Bear in mind, Maraj’s semen was has been found on the 12 year-old’s clothes, and as a result he was offered a plea deal of 15 years. He refused the deal.

According to court documents secured by Bossip, Maraj’s attorneys believe that the victim’s supposed sexual history might someone absolve Maraj of his guilt in this case.

“Our firm has a good faith basis to believe that the complainant in this case has had intimate physical contact with a man who is not the defendant in this case and who is older than 17 years of age and who may have caused there to be physical evidence of repeated vaginal and anal penetration of the complainant,”

Some have proposed that the idea that the child’s alleged sexual history would be introduced as evidence in support of Maraj is nothing more than slut-shaming.

Maraj’s case is set to go to trial later this month.

  1. Such a touchy topic. I wish remy never would have addressed it…but nonetheless families are supposed to support one another right? I think that’s all Nicki is doing, even though the charges are disgusting why do we shun her and not these rappers who support murderers or drug dealer??? Interesting.

  2. It’s sad, but it’s her flesh n blood, we all have relatives that had done bad(not this bad but still) she may want to believe otherwise cuz this her bro she grew up with and knows him better than anyone. So I won’t judge, I how hope he gets the help he needs so that it does not happen again( I would be pissed if it happen to, hell I’m pissed it happen to this 12 yr old child) but what would u do if u in her shoe? This is not a good thing too bring up about ppl family, they should just stick to the issue which is? Nobody really know, but if I was Remy Ma I be so thankful I’m out of jail and living a good life

  3. I’m all for supporting family, even when we know they’re wrong at times….. but there are certain issues in which I will not and can not stand in support of, pedophilia and rape being one of them. However, I do see both sides.

    1. i hear you. i don’t think she has to publicly say she’s not standing by him or anything, but i can also understand how hard it would be for me to believe that my own brother raped a child.
