Priscilla Samey, 17, has been accepted to several Ivy league schools including Yale, Princeton, University of Pennsylvania, Cornell, Columbia, Brown, and Harvard. According to the Tab, Priscilla is a first generation American, and daughter of Togolese (West African) immigrants.
After not being asked to prom, Priscilla, a high school senior, decided to take her acceptance letter as a date.
According to the Mic, Priscilla got the idea to take her acceptance letter from her sister:
“She said, ‘The best one [date] is all your college admissions.”
So she took her sister’s advice:
“I took a date that was pretty low maintenance, so I didn’t have to pay for his dinner.”
Her friends were also really supportive:
They all thought it was so funny and cute. I didn’t get any negative feedback like I thought I would and they all were very proud and supportive.
Samey will be majoring in political science with a pre-law track at Harvard and plans to get both her juris doctorate and a degree in business administration, so she can go into business law.
