“You’re F*%$in Dead To Me…Go Live With The Ni_____rs” Father Verbally Attacks His Daughter For Going To Prom With a Black Date

When Anna Hayes, from Lake Village, Arkansas attended prom last week with Phillip Freeman, she never imagined that that seemingly innocuous decision would land her on the receiving end of a racist tirade courtesy of her father.

After seeing social media photos of the prom-goers, Anna’s father sent her a series of profanity laden text messages, where he disowned Anna and called her date, “Subhuman”

Take a look at the text exchange:

Anna told BuzzFeed News that she has had a strained relationship with her father for the last few years. Her parents are divorced, and she has known him to be “openly racist” much of her life. Anna also has a biracial half-sister, so his racists views really hit home.

“He had always been openly racist around me when I was growing up in his household, but it never really occurred to me what it exactly meant to be racist,” she said. “When you’re a child you look at the world completely different.”

“He has told me that if I ever dated a black guy that I will and would be dead to him…I stood my ground for what I believe in. He has called me several horrible things before.”

Since posting the message, folks have gone and hunted down Anna’s dad and have been sending hateful messages to his most recent ex-wife. Anna responded to those actions by posting the following message:

Side note: While I don’t support folks doing the most by in-boxing this poor girl’s family members, Anna’s insistence that we should be “peaceful and classy” in the face of racism doesn’t sit too well with me. Back in 2015 Nicki Minaj and Miley Cyrus had beef because Miley insisted that when speaking about issues relating to black women in the music industry, Minaj should be “polite.” You can read about it HERE. Needless to say, with the racial climate right now being on 10, our white allies need to be careful about how they attempt to police how we respond to stuff. We’ve been through a lot, and we’re kind of over being peaceful. Again, her family doesn’t deserve the backlash, but we don’t take kindly to be told to be “classy,” either. Respectability has never ever curbed racist attacks.  Anna exposed her racist dad, has a biracial sister,  and clearly feels strongly about racism, but I still think she needs to do some work before having a seat at the table.
