This Stunning Model Was Asked If She’d Consider Bleaching Her Skin For $10,000. This Was Her Response

South Sudanese model, Nyakim Gatwech, also known as “Queen of The Dark” ain’t here for the BS about her glorious dark skin.

Nyakim Gatwech Model-queen-of-darkIn an interview with Yahoo Beauty, Gatwech reveals:

“I was [asked by] my Uber driver the other day, he said, ‘Don’t take this offensive but if you were given 10 thousand dollars would you bleach your skin for that amount?’” the goddess wrote on Instagram in late March.

“I couldn’t even respond I started laughing so hard.”

“[Then] he said, ‘So that a no’ and I was like hell to the f*king yeah [that’s] no.”

“Why on earth would I ever bleach this beautiful melanin God [blessed] me with,” she added.

“[Then] he said so you look at it as a blessing?”

Not surprisingly, this Uber driver was not the first to ask her this question. On the contrary, since arriving to the US from her birthplace, Ethopia, Gatwech has often endured offensive questions and comments.

When she was a school girl, her peers would say things like “You black as hell, take a shower.”

Back then, Gatwech actually considered bleaching her skin. Not because she hated her skin, but because she hoped in do so she could

“avoid the dirty looks, the laughter, and for boys to find me attractive.”

Today, however, she is ALL about flexin in her complexion, and educating others on the importance of self-love. So when folks say offensive things, she doesn’t fly into a rage.

“I feel the need to educate my peers on my skin color rather than not saying anything and having it anger me.”

It hasn’t always been easy, but Gatwech continues to push through the obstacles and encourage other dark skin girls to love themselves.

“You are beautiful, you are unique, and there are people who love you just the way you are. They say the darker the cherry, the sweeter the juice. Embrace your darkness!”

I’m a 69 year old white woman and this young model is maybe the most beautiful female I have ever seen. Simply stunning! Her skin looks like velvet and is the most luscious shade I’ve ever seen! If I could be reincarnated I’d LOVE to come back in skin like hers. And she’s not only got the most gorgeous skin, but her beauty is complete in all ways. I’m so glad to have been able to see this girl and I’m so happy she has a job where others like me can have a chance to enjoy looking upon her splendor. She would look great as a Cleopatra in a new movie about Egypt. Elisabeth Taylor was beautiful, but didn’t at all represent what ancient Egyptians looked like.

      1. The women and men of the Sudan are beautiful. They are God’s Wonders.. To the people of the world who don’t like their dark skin don’t not get caught up in the false hype of skin bleaching . Its disgusting and disrespectful. Remember its hate…. They hate you cause they ain’t you#love my dark-skinned sisters and brothers of the world.

i think she is absolutely gorgeous! she has beautiful skin! i know what it feels like to be dark skinned and be made fun of by peers and family. It is sad that you got to “explain your skin tone”… like it never occurred or registered with people that there are various shades of brown at which we are ALL a part of. from creamiest of ivory to the smooth deepest ebonies… People are so special its unreal.

  9. I am absolutely blown away by this beautiful woman’s strength, power, and stunning good looks. As a Caucasian male I’m sure my comments don’t mean all that much, but I read this post all the way through because I was completely turned off by the question about bleaching her beautiful skin. In the end, I just wanted to comment on how Nyakim Gatwech’s response regarding her love of her beautiful dark skin was powerful to read. I believe she is one of the most gorgeous women I have ever seen in my life. Thank you for posting this story, I hope that it inspires other people to embrace their natural beauty and find joy in that.

  10. This is an example of the infinite beauty and wonder in the natural world.

I am in awe looking at this beautiful person.

You are mesmerizing! You are gorgeous! You are strong!

I can’t believe all the people who lie to themselves in self preservation to say that their natural form is the measure of beauty or validity.

This is obviously a precious glimpse at the glory of the dna that exists and would thrive without xenophobia based eugenics.

I am so glad you survived and beat all those haters.

Keep shining you glorious warrior of beauty.

  11. Jennie Hui says:

  12. God made us all different colors for a reason. But to be truful about the matter people are jealous of your beautiful black skin.and they really wish they were in your skin. You stay positive don’t let no body turn you around are stop you from being you keep it black because I think you very beautiful.

  13. She is absolutely beautiful,I would be proud to have her on my arm,and in my life.I am a southern Caucasian male, and I have learned through all my years, that’s it’s not the color of the skin, that makes the person, but the heart inside.I love all beautiful women, regardless of their color. She could be purple pokadotted and still be beautiful.

    1. I have never understood why people would comment on others skin colour. The world wide diversity in tones and shades is amazing! My own skin has many flaws and it’s a golden whiteish tan lol….I avoid the sun cuz I’ve quite a few moles on arms!😕 I love my skin it tells my story.
The reason I’m commenting on this post is because I have never seen such depth of color…. it’s magical…. she is blessed and her beautiful face is a further bonus! Just stunning…. there is so much beauty in the world🥰🥰🥰

      1. American Mom says:

People can be so rude it amazes me! I remember the girls in gym making fun of me for being too pale. I’m Scotch Irish English and Norwegian! I remember trying hard to tan! So stupid! It doesn’t matter what color you are someone in this world thinks you’re beautiful and that’s the Lord. He made you exactly the color you are. I think you’re beautiful too!

  14. Girl, God bless you for never changing your skin colour, you are soooooo beautiful, I am glad I can see your photos with my eyes, I am honored to see such amazing skin. I wish mine was same but I praise God for diversity and each person on this world. It is such a blessing to be part of unique and wonderful amazing people who are made in God’s perfect image. Take care.

  15. Beautiful, Flawless, Stunning!

  16. Oh my goodness! You are absolutely gorgeous… stunningly beautiful!!! I can’t imagine anyone criticizing you because of your beautiful skin color! You have to be the envy of women everywhere. I use to sculpt figures out of clay and would bake the figures in the oven to cure the clay. One time I accidentally left a fairy I made in the oven for longer than I should have…I actually forgot about her being in there. But when I took her out, she was the most wonderful black color! She was PERFECT! And try as I may, I was never able to get another one like her again. She was unique… just like you! Never forget how unique and beautiful you are!!

    1. I’m not the woman I wrote about. This is an article.

  17. …. BLACK IS BEAUTY ….

  18. She looks like a cute Barbie doll! Her skin color is just a color, like eye color, like hair color, why is skin color treated differently… I am Caucasian, and I find it really crazy that in this day and age people suggest someone is filthy for having more melanin. That’s insane. Might be kids who did it, but kids can be so evil and cruel, worse than adults. She’s got beautiful glowing chocolate skin. No need to change anything on anyone, just stay healthy. Every skin color that glows with health is attractive. Actually that dewy healthy shine shows all the more the darker your skin is, and creates more contrast to emphasize your eyes and smile. It’s a big part of why people sunbathe.

  19. I try to fight my feeling because I have this hate for racist white people. When you have to deal with their stupid remarks day in and day out and all the other stuff they do. But then I think that many white people are not so racist or stupid. If not for them the world would be a much more hostile place to live in.

  20. Werner Wiesner says:

The real reason people want her to bleach herself is because the government brainwashed them to say that for her to be recognizable by facial recognition. This way, it’s natural privacy protection.

  21. She should not shes hot just the way she is

  22. Nyakim Gatwech is stunningly beautiful. Her skin glows like magic. I personally have never seen such beauty. Rock on our black “Queen of the dark”.

  23. Don’t change anything about your skin. God made you the way you are. The others who want you to change color of your skin, can go jump in a crock some where.
I personally think you look absolutely gorgeous.

    The image of our Creator

  25. Petrichor says:

The part of me that wants to be an artist just wants to gaze at the rich perfection of her form and thinks, “She’s the Queen of the Night”. s
She’s like a perfect bronze statue that has came alive; She’s what Eve must have looked like before the fall. . . I want to paint dozens of pictures of her in all kinds of light, I want to explore the way light and shadow play about her form; I want to phtotgraph her in Japanese textiles, to sketch her in classical Greek drapery. The pure eye falls in love with her beauty, admires, and does not want to possess her. The religious look at her and praise God for making so much beauty human.

  26. Don’t change you are perfect in every way

  27. Don’t change a thing about yourself. God made us all different. You are exactly the way you are. Your very beautiful and successful. For those who thinks you should be lighter skinned shame on them. I’m thinking they are just jealous of your beauty. Ignorance is bless and they are very bless. My extended family are blessed to have many cultures in it. We have many colors and nationalities and I love every single one of them. It’s what’s in the heart we are the same. That is all that matters. Love and acceptance is everything. You are exceptionally fabulous.

  28. Jennifer Morris says:

I think her unusually beautiful skin color shouts, in order to draw attention to the perfection of her shape, her beauty, her attitude and her heart.

  29. David Clark says:

She’s absolutely gorgeous just as she is. I was going to say stunning, but everyone else has beaten me to it.

  30. Girl you are stunning I am speechless!!!

  31. John. R. C says:

Take NO heed to what others may think of cooler of your skin, or the shade of your skin. As I myself think dark skin looks BEAUTIFUL, and I am NOT talking about white girls with a FAKE tan. God has made us all different, so who is to say that been light skinned is best ! Just so you know this (I am NOT a racist) that I am 100% WHITE Englishman who lives in England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🇬🇧 But I have and am at this moment in time, dating a darker skinned lady from Nigeria, and BEFORE anyone says a thing about African girls only out looking for money and to SCAM you. Although I have NOT yet been to Africa, I dated a lady who is living in the UK, I have dated a young woman from Nigeria who came at HER OWN EXPENSE to come to meet me in England and I got to meet her off the plane at Heathrow Airport. I also have had in the past had an online relationship with a woman from Zambia. But out of them three, I have went back to dating the Nigerian young lady, as first time round things did not work out. But NOT communicating for almost a full year, she has grown up a bit more and can sort of see things through my eyes. I am also TRYING my BEST to understand her thoughts and feelings about life. As from the very first time we started to speak, I told her that we WOULD encounter a few problems, as we are from TOTALY DIFFERENT CULTURES. As how she has been brought up to see the world, is NOT the way I have been brought up to see the world. Not only that, we do have a bit of an age discrepancy between us. Even WITHOUT her NOT living in the UK and understanding our differences in culture, we are still NOT going to see eye to eye over some of the things that the age difference has between us.
I know at times when she was here in the UK, she had a feeling that she was the odd one out, as she might have been the ONLY African lady in the room. But as I told her, when I go to Nigeria to meet her mammy and her family and friends, it sort of will be the same thing for me, me been a snowflake in a coal mine. But for ME, I would not sit at the back of a room and HOPE that I do NOT get noticed. I have a very outgoing personality, and also do NOT see me been as WHITE and everyone else been as BLACK. As a bit of a joke, I always say that NO MATTER if a persons skin might be BLACK, WHITE, GREEN or BLUE, I see the PERSON under the skin. As peak back the skin, and we ALL are PINK under it.
So let them who think that ladies or men of a different colour than WHITE, why the HELL should they be made to feel small just because of how God has made us.
Be PROUD of who you are and be BLIND to colour. We are ALL human, and we all have feelings and hangups about some things, but PLEASE do NOT let colour be one of them.
