It’s the first friday of the month so this means, of course, that we get to round off the week with this month’s Feature Friday. I’m SUPER excited to present Roni of Style & Poise. Roni and I actually went to undergraduate school together, so it’s great to see another UConn alum doing her thang in the online fashion scene.
Tell us a little bit about yourself:
My name is Roni and I am originally from New Jersey and within recent years have become a Philadelphian. I have a passion for fashion and an even deeper love for shoes! I love to shop, travel, listen to music (it’s my therapy, alongside shopping) and spend time with those dear and near to me. For my 9-5 I serve as an Auditor in higher education and just recently I’ve delved into the world of a style consultant. I am completely ecstatic to embark on this new journey and am excited to see where this path will lead. I am eager, humbled, and grateful to be walking in my purpose.
How long have you been blogging?
I have been blogging for 3 years and am amazed at how much my blog and audience has grown since 2011 and even more excited to see what lies ahead.
What made you want to start a blog?
My family and friends typically consult with me regarding fashion/style advice. I would always receive phone calls asking, “What would you wear with this?” “I am going to meet up with friends and want to be cute and comfy what do you suggest?” So, one day a light bulb went off in my head to start a blog to serve as inspiration/a guide for my family and friends. I NEVER imagined that I would meet so many other bloggers who share the same common interests as I do and to actually gain a following. I can honestly say, I love and truly enjoy blogging and all the wonderful fashionistas I’ve come in contact with throughout my journey! I truly couldn’t imagine my life without blogging!
Describe your blog in three words:
Stylish. Classy. Budget-Friendly
How would you describe your style:
If I had to describe my style I would say it is, Feminine, Girly Chic, Classy, Modern-Vintage with a hint of edge, glitz and glam! I live for feminine silhouettes, such as full skirts, pencil skirts, dresses, and garments that accentuate my best assets. Fabulous heels are an absolute must-have item in my wardrobe! I believe that less is definitely more. I am an educated, working woman that prides myself on looking stylish on a budget and serving as inspiration for the everyday woman. I aim for my style to be relatable but still unique in it’s own right. I strongly believe that you do not have to break the bank to be a style maven, which is what my blog represents. I think it’s essential to know what items to invest in and which pieces to go the inexpensive route.
What do you think sets you apart from other bloggers in your industry?
Hmmm….that’s a great question. I aim to always remain true to Roni and who and what I represent. I never want to be a carbon copy of everyone else in the blogsphere. Blogging is wonderful because you gain so much inspiration from so many stylish and creative individuals but I think it’s very important to make each look and article of clothing your own. So, I’d say my blog sets me apart in the fact that I wear what makes me happy, regardless if I think I am going to receive 40 comments/likes or 2 comments/likes. I can always take pride in the fact that it’s my style and what I am loving at the moment!
Most bloggers are inspired by other bloggers, what are some of your favorite blogs/bloggers/vloggers:
What advice would you offer to current and aspiring bloggers?
As cliché’ as this may sound I think it’s so valuable and important to find your niche’ and WERK it! Stay true to who you are and try not to allow your blogger inspiration’s to completely alter your style. Always make it your own!
And there you have it! If you aren’t familiar with Roni’s fabulousness, GET FAMILIAR! Head on over to Style & Poise and say hello!
