Moto Jacket Oufit
When I became a Mom last year I never imagined that one of the benefits of such a monumental undertaking would be a new appreciation for my body. I mean, this thing nourished and grew a life! It’s incredible. And yeah, I get a lot of “you look great, you don’t look like you had a baby,” which is nice to hear, don’t get me wrong, but I know the difference between my body now and my body pre-baby. And when it comes to loving yourself, YOU have to be able to look at yourself in the mirror and be at peace with what you see.
And between you and me, it’s taken me a year to truly accept these changes (Thank you LORD for padded bras). And although my skin and hair still haven’t quiet adjusted to the hormonal changes, there are some things I’ve come to accept, and dare I say, even like about my new body:
My once flat tummy that I now suck in to appear flat( And yes, that is a belly button piercing hole. And don’t get all high an mighty like you don’t remember 2003):
My extra padded boo-tay.
And, lastly, my curvalicious hips:
Incidentally, I don’t share these pics to be all, look at me don’t I look great, because I know what I’m working with WITHOUT makeup, lighting, and an expensive camera. I share these pics to simply be open with you guys about my life behind the lens. Accepting and loving yourself really is something you have to work at, and I’m thankful I have this little space and all of you with me on my journey towards self-acceptance.
