MAC NASTY GAL Lipstick Review+ Swatches + Dupe
NastyGal is one of my favorite online shopping spots. The fashion is real. The fashion is bold. The fashion is me. So when Mac launched a collection with Nastygal, your girl was on the front-lines ready for battle, okay? I wanted all three of those gorgeous vampy matte shades, and I wanted them now!
But then I saw this review by Erin of Scandalous Beauty, and decided that the red shade, Stunner, looked too much like Ruby Woo, which I already own AND have many many dupes for (Click here for dupes). But Gunner, and Runner, looked unique enough to try, and try I did.
These shades are gorgeous, full coverage, and matte! Runner is a bit more red than I expected, and I love it. I can’t begin to describe gunner, so I won’t. Just look above. It’s purple. It’s blue. It’s vampy.
And because I am a makeup
hoarder enthusiast, I decided to look into my stash to see if I could find any dupes for these two colors. W hile I couldn’t find an exact dupe for either shade ( gunner is so uniquely blue/purple), I did come close for Runner.
As you can see, Gunner is pretty much in a league of its own. But Wet n’ Wild’s Vamp it Up, is a nice alternative. Smoked Purple, unfortunately, didn’t really compare.
Here, we see Wet n Wild’s Cherry Bomb is a darn close dupe for Runner. Coming in a close second is Sephora’s Luster matte Lip Color in Deep Plum (btw, this color never dries matte on me. Everybody loves them, and they are nice, but I’ve never raved.)
Now, here’s where this post gets sad. These colors are sold out on the mac site, BUT I have seen them on ebay. If they go back in stock (fingers crossed) I’ll let you know.
Thanks for stopping by!
