JCAT Beauty Pout-Holic Lipstick Review + Swatches
Given that my review of the JCat Beauty Wonder Lip Paints (Click HERE) is currently one of my most popular posts, it’s no wonder the company is quickly releasing more and more fabulous products.
The new JCAT Beauty Pout-Holic Lipsticks pack a mean punch at the low price of $3.99 each (Buy Here).
JCat Beauty describes these as follows:
Creamy and highly pigmented pastel, neon, gothic colored lipsticks, formulated with Vitamin E with refreshing mint zest.
JCAT sent me 7 out of the 18 Shades to try, and after receiving them, I’m anxious try a few more shades, namely the gold, gray, and #117.
My Thoughts
The JCAT Beauty Pout-Holic Lipstick are highly pigmented, and once settled on the lips, do last a very long time. We’re talking hours and hours of wear. That notwithstanding, I have naturally very pigmented lips, so I found a few shades to not be as full coverage as I would have liked. They also seemed to move around my lips and settle into the cracks a bit.
The worst offenders (and I use that term loosely because, overall, I think these lipsticks are fantastic and provide some of the longest lasting coverage I’ve ever seen in a discount beauty product) are the following shades:
Notice how you can see my natural lip color peeking through?
The feathering and uneven coverage isn’t as noticeable in the lighter pink shade, but in person, I felt that it didn’t quite measure up to some of the other shades. still, it’s quite lovely on the lip.
The black shade, “2 sizes Up,” as you can see likewise presented the same problem. So I recommend using a black eyeliner first.
Now, the remaining shades in my collection were opaque and really popped against my skin tone.
Overall I think these lipsticks are great, but you will need several coats to get full coverage, even with the most pigmented shades. They’ll also need about 30 seconds to settle on your lip for lasting wear. But once the color has set, ladies, get ready to have to scrub the color off! Which, by the way, is pretty rare with a non-matte, color. These are creamy and long lasting.
Currently, I’m only seeing these available on the JCAT Beauty site, however, Ulta, Harmon’s Beauty, and your local beauty supply store may be carrying them, too.
If you spot them anywhere be sure to let me know!
I wonder how that gold one is. That would look good on you!
Oooh!! I’d love to try the Gold too! Thanks for stopping by, Janelle!
