LA Splash Liquid Lipstick Review + Swatches
LA Splash Liquid Liquid Lipstick Review + Swatches on Dark Skin
La Splash Liquid Lipsticks are amazing. Plain and Simple. They are highly pigmented and can easily last up to 12 hours on the lips, longer if you aren’t drinking and eating all day long like yours truly.
Liquid Lipsticks aren’t anything new, but as of late, they are the rage. Folks seem to like the relative ease of application, and the long-wearing matte finish. It seems virtually every cosmetics company, from low-end to high-end, has their own version of liquid lipstick perfection. So far be it from LA Splash Cosmetics to miss out on the action.
Before I jump fully into my review, it’s important to note that these liquid lipsticks come in three distinct formulas:
StudioShine Waterproof Lip Lustre: $13.98. These are the most expensive of the three options. Slightly thicker in consistancy, and therefore a tad more opaque. These are also supposed to contain some shimmer, however, I didn’t notice any shimmer in the shade “Alice”. Twelve shades in total. Mostly reds, plums, pinks, and purples, with 2 nude shades.
Smitten LipTint Mousse: $11.98 each. Goes on light and “mousse-like.” Dries matte and is long-lasting.
Note: This color, without a liner, looks horrible on my skin-tone. I look like Pookie from New Jack City, HOWEVER, it looks sooo pretty when you use a warm red or brown liner like so:
Lip Couture: $11.98 I would say these have the thinnest consistancy. but like the other two these dry to long-lasting matte finish. Even better, the color opitions are greater, going from true nudes to the blackest black. 18 colors.
My Review
Pros:
- Highly Pigmented
- Very Matte
- Pretty fast shipping
- Nice mid-range pricing
- Comparable to any high-end liquid lipstick on the market.
- Solid packaging, no leaks, no spills. #winning.
Cons:
- Hard to find on the ground. I ordered these online, and the only store I know that carries LA Splash Cosmetics is Harmon Discount Beauty Supply
- Hard to take off. La Splash gifts you a remover when you order at least 5 of these at a time, but it doesn’t do the job. I had to remove these with olive oil, but I also hear that Aquaphor Ointment is another option.
- Popular shades are frequently out of stock, so be ready to stalk the online store and be ready to purchase as soon as they are restocked
That’s all folks. Let me know if you’ve spotted these in any local stores, and if you plan to buy any, because you should. #justsayin.
Those are beautiful shades! I have yet to try them but they look fantastic.
