What to Wear with a Black and White Dress + Link Up
Firstly, I’d like to apologize for not being as present here on the blog for the last few weeks. As many of you know I’ve been working really hard at launching my newest business venture and it’s eating up all of my time.
If I’m going to be completely honest, I won’t be back to fully blogging until August. I will be posting once or twice a week, but I’m here! News of my latest venture will be soon coming, but in the meantime, can we talk about this dress??
Side note: This lipstick is EVERYTHING. It’s Stila’s Stay all Day Liquid Lipstick in the color Fiery. And you need it. Now. The end.
Back to the dress. When I first tried it on I was a little concerned about the length. Ever since I cut my hair, I’ve been been heavily into midi skirts and jogger pants, but I felt so sexy and young in this dress that I couldn’t pass it up. Could you?
We’re often told to stay away from stripes as they have a habit of accentuating are undesiraable physical traits, but these days, I’m all about breaking the rules. This year has been SUCH a year of discovery for me, as I finally know what it feels like to be comfortable in my own skin. So much so that I don’t question my fashion choices. I do whatever feels good in my soul.
What to Wear with a Black and White Dress
In any event, when I put this dress on I felt instantly pretty and feminine, but I knew something was missing. I have a hard time not throwing in an extra pattern or pop of color, so I added this cute pink clutch from Charming Charlie. The pink one is sold out, but PLEASE someone grab the yellow one.
Last, but not least, the shoes. Unfortunately, these are sold out as they are from last year, but you can grab these cute ones instead.

And thank you so much to those of you who continue to inspire me by hanging in there through the many changes, facelifts, and redirections of this blog. My contributors Chakayla & Elizabeth have been an amazing support to me as I transition into being a fulltime entrepreneur, so please look out for more posts from my two favorite girls!
Hey, Boo! My name is Lisa and you’ve stumbled upon my own little corner of the world. I’m a 30 something-year-old writer/mother/wife who happens to love lipstick, high heels, blackness, and the truth. You’ll find a mix of everything on this site, so I won’t bore you by trying to define this space. I hope you stay awhile!
That is the cutest dress and I love the pop of color with the purse. I understand your concern about the length. My daughter usually wears knit, tight fitting (work out type) shorts underneath short dresses so she doesn’t have to worry if the wind blows…if you know what I mean. 🙂
I know what you mean, Amy! And your daughter may have the right idea! LOL
While the dress is a bit short for my liking, I love the pattern and the pop of pink.
Thanks!
