Plaid Shirt Outfit
I can’t believe this photoshoot was only a month ago! The foliage was so pretty. We hardly have any leaves left, which makes me sad. Winter will be here before we know it, which usually means fewer and fewer fashion posts on the blog. I do my best to spread them out, but whenever I have a shoot with my amazing photography of Cate Rose Photo, I want to share every single photo immediately.
But enough about the weather, cute pictures, and my plaid shirt outfit. What’s really weighing heavy on my mind today is gratitude. As I get older I’m reminded every single day about how fleeting life is, and how much I have to be thankful for. Since becoming a a full-time entrepreneur, I’ve had to rely on a whole lot of faith to push through during the moments (and sometimes days) of self-doubt. As a business coach it’s my job to encourage and show people that it is IS possible to live your dreams, but I wouldn’t be true to myself if I didn’t own up to the fact that sometimes I wish I could have been successful playing it safe.
As crazy as it sounds I sometimes envy the 9-5er who can punch a clock and be certain of what’s to come. As an entrepreneur my journey is completely unchartered, which is scary. But can tell you a secret? In the moments when I am most afraid, most uncertain, I am always encouraged.
I won’t begin to quote bible verses or pretend to be the most religious and fervent church-goer, but I can say that faith and gratitude are the two things that sustain me. Today, for example, I sat in traffic with my screaming toddler in the back seat and found myself almost overcome with emotion. I was so thankful for the car, the gas in the car, and my sweet screaming baby that I found myself muttering “thank you” over and over again. I am so thankful for my life and all of the blessings that I have that all of those moments of doubt and insecurity seem silly in comparison.
I believe that the mind is incredibly powerful, and that if used properly one’s potential for greatness is increased 10-fold. It takes practice, but I have, with my own eyes, seen the magic that can unfold when we believe and have faith. So this is where I am today; grateful for every single thing under the sun and loving every minute of my precious life.
What are you grateful for today?
