How to Rock Sunglasses Like A Boss
You may have noticed this already, but I gotta tell ya, I love a great pair of sunglasses. In fact, I’d consider myself a sunglasses hoarder. Sunglasses, in my opinion, are the ultimate fashion accessory.
A few months ago, one of my clients asked me how she can bring about a more sophisticated look to her blog pictures. My answer was simple: sunglasses. The truth is, your outfit doesn’t even have to be all that complicated. In the picture above I’m wearing an off the shoulder top, cut-off denim shorts, and strappy sandals. My outfit is pretty relaxed and no fuss, but when you add sunglasses into the mix it just ups the level of sophistication to the look.
Where do you find the perfect sunglasses? One of my favorite places to shop for killer frames in JCPenney Optical. JCPenney Optical carries tons of designer eyewear brands like:
- Cover Girl
- Isaac Mizrahi
- Nicole by Nicole Miller
- Liz Claiborne
The best part is that you’ll never pay “designer” prices for your frames when you shop at JCPenney Optical. Since I collect sunglasses, I’m restricted in how much I can spend per pair, so this week I’m heading over to my local local JCPenney Optical find your local JCP optical by clicking HERE), because they’re having an Epic sale of 50% off AND an extra 25% off for Friends and Family. The sale ends June 10th, so hurry! Oh, and while you’re at it head over to the JCPenney Sephora. It’s my favorite place on earth!
If you want to rock a pair of sunglasses like a boss you first have to own that you are a boss. You have to first shed off any insecurities you might possess and simply tell yourself, “I got this.” Then head over to a store like JCP optical that has tons of options and then try on pair after pair after pair. Doing so will help you to determine which shape best suits your face.
If you can’t physically try on glasses in a store, don’t worry. Head over to JCPenney Optical’s online store, and use their virtual try-on method to simply upload an image of yourself and try on the frames you like right from your home. You can also shop by face-shape which is super important when trying to find the most flattering pair of sunglasses.
I have a fairly round face, so I find the best frames for me can be square or round, but they have to be on the bigger side. Tiny frames just look weird on me, so I stay away from rectangular shaped frames for that very reason.
Once you’ve found your perfect shape by trying on frames at a local store, it makes it easier to shop for frames, even online, because you already know what looks good on you. Then it just becomes about throwing your shoulders bag and just feeling yourself. You instantly become too cool for school once you’re rocking some fierce shades. It also doesn’t hurt to throw on some killer heels too. These are from Justfab, but you can grab a similar pair HERE.
