Friends, I have found the bargain of the year: Wet n Wild Color Icon Matte Liquid Lipsticks. They are limited edition for fall 2016, but I’m telling myself that Wet n Wild will come to their senses and make these permanent.
In the meantime, you can score them in the display section at your local drugstores. I got mine at my local Walgreens, but you can also buy them by clicking HERE.
Wet n Wild Color Icon Matte Liquid Lipstick Review
The Wet n Wild Color Icon Liquid Lipsticks come in 4 shades:
A bright red color called How Fleek Is Your Love (dupe for Jeffree Star’s Redrum)
a Fuschia color called Too Tulip To Quit:
a Reddish Brown shade called Don’t Be A Plum-Plum:
and a Vampy Burgundy shade called Take It Like A Vamp
These are being sold for 2.99, however, they are worth far more than that. From the packaging to the wand to the formula, Wet n Wild really out did themselves with this product. I sincerely haven’t been this impressed with such an inexpensive drugstore purchase in a long time.
Application
These apply as a liquid and dry down to a smooth matte finish.
Formula
I found the formula to be very comfortable. Although these do not dry down immediately, they do dry down after about 3 minutes. Once dry they are smooth and do not settle into the cracks of your lips. Both the pink and the red colors required additional coats on my very pigmented lips, but additional coats did not cause these to crumble or flake.
Longevity
I would say you can get about 5+ hours out of these. If you eat greasy foods they will, of course, come, off, but that’s to be expected as oil almost always removes liquid lipsticks.
