The Love and Hip Hop franchise gets a lot of flack. And while much of the show isn’t exactly what I might call real, last night’s episode was both real and raw.
Rapper, Remy Ma, allowed cameras into her hospital room where she learned that she had suffered an ectopic pregnancy, resulting in a miscarriage. In this same scene she reveals that she can no longer have children naturally. Watch the scene HERE.
“I promised my husband that I would give him the child that he’s been asking me for since almost the day he met me and I can’t do that any more…It F*#kin sucks”
The reality is Remy Ma is not alone. According to the March of Dimes, 1 in every 50 pregnancies in the U.S. is an ectopic pregnancy. According to the Mayo Clinic, 10 to 20 percent of known pregnancies end in miscarriage.
Despite this devastating news, the 36-year old rapper took to Instagram to share words of thanks and encouragement to her fans, many of whom, no doubt, have suffered similar losses. She also reveals she intends to go forward with In Vitro Fertilization.
Thank you to everyone that sent their congrats as well as condolences?? This was a hard time for me & my husband & we thought long and hard before deciding to share this part of our lives with you all.
I was totally against it but in a fit of crying @papoosepapoose said ” you are not the only one going thru this , we will get thru it” …made me realize how many women like myself experience the same thing and don’t have a strong partner by their side to say it will be alright. So I’m here to tell anyone going thru a similar situation that it is not over and God has the last say so.”
Much love to Remy Ma and Papoose for sharing this part of their journey.
