“Overwhelming Disrespect” Mary J. Blige Explains Why ‘Mean’ Kendu Doesn’t Deserve $110K In Spousal Support

Mary J. Blige has been pretty quiet about her divorce from her estranged husband Kendu Isaacs. What had surfaced were his demands that many people feel are a bit much. Kendu wants $110,000 in monthly spousal support, $5,000 a month to support his parents, $4,971 a month in child support for two children from a past relationship, $1,200 for restaurant dining and $60,000 in rent he owes to several properties.

The Queen of Hip Hop Soul has finally broken her silence about the divorce in her recent with Angie Martinez. She is not here for Kendu’s ‘mean’ actions and said she’s not responsible for him or his family anymore.

“I don’t owe you anything,” said Mary. “It’s not fair, so this is very mean. This is very mean to just keep sitting on this and demanding this type of money and taking me through all this sh*t. I can’t believe you’re trying to stick me up and no disrespect to his family at all, you know, but I’m not responsible for you. I don’t have any children with you. I’m not responsible for anything else with you anymore.”

Blige also reveals a little of what exactly went wrong in the relationship.

“Overwhelming disrespect, you’re too familiar, you’re disrespecting me and I can tell I’m not what you want any more,” said Mary.”You start to realize that this man doesn’t want you and he’s just gone all the time and you’re by yourself in the relationship…When you realize you’re by yourself in the relationship—that’s when you start to do some investigating…I was getting things here and there but I didn’t get no full proof. But when I got the full proof I didn’t have to investigate it, it just showed up.”

  1. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Mary J Blige. I hate that she is going through a hard time and I hope it is over soon. I enjoyed this interview and I especially enjoyed her reaction to the videos of people doing the Maryjay Blige dance. I hope people support her new music and I hope that she sees that light at the end of the darkness very soon. Everyone deserves to be happy.

  2. He must be out of his got-dang mind!!! Support for his parents? Children? $1200 for restaurant dining? If you and your people can’t live off the spousal support you are probably entitled to then all of you need to go get JOBS!!! Greed! Such an ugly thing.

I will always root for Mary. I pray she has an extended period of peace and overwhelming, unconditional love.

  4. This man is a greedy fool. She don’t owe him anything. If he wanted her to keep taking care of his children and his mother he should’ve done right by her. A real piece of slime. Get you a good lawyer girl. Pay top dollar and get that POS off your back
