Watch Detsy Devos Get Booed During Bethune-Cookman University’s Commencement [Video]

I have a lot of questions about Bethune Cookman University’s decision to allow Betsy Devos, Secretary of Education,  to speak during their commencement this year. What were they thinking? Why? Who okayed this?  But the one question I can’t get beyond is: How much did Betsy’s camp pay BCU to allow her to speak? Especially with the number of protesters who arrived ahead of the speech:

I mean, on what planet did they expect this was go down without a hitch? At an HBCU?! If you recall, Devos experienced backlash  earlier this year after she declared historically black colleges as “real pioneers when it comes to school choice.”

As we all know HBCU’s were born out of necessity, not choice, due segregation.

Students at BCU barely allowed  Devos to get a word out without booing and ultimately turning their backs. At one point school president, Edison O. Jackson, took to the stage to defend Devos and silence the heckling:

“If this behavior continues, your degrees will be mailed to you. Choose which way you want to go.”

Watch and see:

Gosh, they make me proud!
