The ladies, aged 29-35, celebrated their 10-year anniversary since joining the Beta Alpha chapter of Delta Sigma Theta at Florida A&M University.

LaToya Owens, who organized the event, told told Yahoo Style:

“Our sorority is all about black excellence…We want to serve as an example and [show] appreciation of black women. Our commitment is to scholarship and service, and this was to honor the sisterhood.”

The ladies spent three days bonding, and then went to  a private beach where they took the photos.

  1. Black women are never overlooked for their beauty. There’s not a word to fully describe a black woman’s essence….her total being. The word beauty is only the start of the conversation. A melanated soul woman is an experience. Once she fully awakens to what she is..not who but “what”, the best way to describe her at that point is that she’s a “force of nature”!
