One of the darkest moments for two beloved superstars happened in February 2009. It was the night of Clive Davis’ famous Grammy Awards’ Party. Two of the expected guests were noticeably missing from the festivities, Chris Brown and Rihanna. That night would change both of their lives forever. Chris Brown had assaulted the rising pop princess, Rihanna, on their way to the party. A 911 call, arrest, and some of the most heinous photos released to the public have served as the story of that night. Rihanna eventually opened about the incident to Diane Sawyer on ABC’s 20/20.
Chris has always remained relatively silent on the matter, even during his appearance on Larry King
Well Chris has finally decided to tell his whole truth in his new Chris Brown documentary:
“To be honest, we would fight each other. She would hit me, I would hit her.”
His detailed account of their relationship shocked fans and haters alike. The relationship by his own account seemed to be volatile, following his disclosure of being intimate with another woman. Unfortunately that volatility escalated, resulting in one of the most memorable celebrity scandals in recent history.
I’m not sure why he decided to come clean now, perhaps it is because of the perpetual black cloud that has been over him since then. He’s experienced several lawsuits and accusations of violence since the attack. Most recently he was subject to a restraining order from ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran (read about that HERE) accusing him of domestic violence as well.
How do you feel about Chris’s revelations about Rihanna and their relationship?
