I’ll admit it, NYX Cosmetics and I have had a bit of a tumultuous past. I have always been a big fan and supporter of the brand for 2 reasons: 1. The pigmentation of their eye and lip products is incredible 2. The insanely affordable price point for well-packaged and quality makeup. Despite my longstanding support, the brand wasn’t all that cool when I hit them up about their lack of dark skin testers when they launched their newest foundation. See HERE for that exchange.
A few months after that spat, I was invited to attend a local NYX store opening (see HERE), and since then I’ve sort of mended fences with the brand. Being in an actual NYX store really showed me that the brand does include our shades in their foundation selection. Also, there are far too many black-owned and discount brands that offer foundations shades in my skin tone to be tripping over NYX testers (see HERE for a complete list of brands offering foundation in darker shaded).
I don’t know about y’all but I’m tired of even demanding inclusion. I will support brands that see us, and that’s it.
Okay, enough about that for now. Let’s talk about the most comfortable liquid lipstick I have ever tried.
I’ve tried several of the NYX Liquid lipstick formulas from the Liquid Suedes (see my review HERE) to the Lip Lingeries (See my review HERE), and while I like them, you can certainly feel them on your lips. Their soft matte lip creams, which I own, but haven’t reviewed, require far too many coats for full coverage, and take way too long to dry down.
Enter one of their newer formulas: NYX Slip Tease Full Color Lip Oils.
Let’s this out of the way first: these are liquid lipsticks. They do apply somewhat like an oil, I suppose, but for all intents and purposes they are liquid lipsticks. They take a minute or two to dry down to a soft matte, but when they do, you are left with the most comfortable matte liquid lipstick ever. They feel like air on your lips. None of that super dry, crumbling stuff you find with most liquid lipsticks. And with no eating or drinking, you can get a good 4-5 hours of wear before they begin to fade gently from your lips.
I WOKE UP LIKE THIS
I honestly don’t have any cons about this line. If you have tried traditional liquid lipsticks and have steered clear due to their drying formula, I think you’ll really like these. I know I do. Buy them HERE or HERE.
