The look of “unkept” hair was very purposeful.
“There’s someone who follows me around all day long. “Like, literally follows me to make sure there’s not a single hair out of place…I like to wear my natural texture, especially now because I have children and I want them to know that their hair is perfect as it is. They don’t have to change it or straighten it. They can, but they don’t have to.”
Can I get a Amen up in here?
As black women spend a lot of time and money on our hair. We don’t play when it comes to our hair. Ideally we want our hair to neat and polished. We want our parts straight, our braids neat, and our baby hairs laid. Whether permed, weaved, or braided it has to be on point. I am glad we have the options for different style and our hair is so versatile, but sometimes we place too much pressure on perfection. Kerry has a three-year-old daughter named Isabelle , a nine-month-old son named Caleb and is married to Nnamdi Asomugha. Kerry plays Olivia Pope on ABC’s hit series Scandal which is currently on its sixth and final season. Facebook recently ordered a drama series with Kerry producing. Although I’ll miss seeing her in my Thursday night show line up, she can grace the cover of any magazine and I’ll pick it. Not only because she is stunning but because is genuine.
