How To Rock The Velvet Trend Without Looking Like a Hot A$$ Mess
Every season brings a new trend, and with it, every blogger rocking it like it’s the latest and greatest thing ever. Count me amongst the guilty because I am trendy and I’m not mad about it. That being said, I am mindful about how I incorporate trends into my wardrobe. I’m also super careful about never overdoing any particular trend.
Point and case: Velvet. Velvet and suede are all the rage right now, and while I’m not against the trend, I’m being careful to incorporate the trend in a way that is timeless and chic. By sticking to timeless pieces, I know I can take these trends from year to year. I would encourage you to avoid mixing trends, if you can. For instance, off-the-shoulder tops are incredibly popular right now, but I would caution against getting that style of shirt in velvet or suede.
For instance this off the shoulder velvet top, paired with a suede skirt is a big no-no.
While I’m not one to stick to rules in fashion, I feel fairly confident in declaring that mixing trends is almost always a recipe for disaster. If you have money to throw away, go head, but me? I’m trying to ball on budget, so I strive for pieces that can be worn again and again.
My advice? Stick to solid pieces you’ll wear again: like shoes!

Trust me, by sticking to classic silhouette like those pictured above, and incorporating trendy pieces with more traditional styles, your wardrobe will never go out of style.
