College Student Arrested After She Tried to “Get Rid” Of Her Jamaican Roommate By Poisoning her

I try not to share every story wherein a black woman is being mistreated. I try, instead, to focus on our triumphs.  This story, however,  is eye-opening enough to warrant being told again and again.

College Freshman, Brianna Brochu, has been arrested after authorities learned she bragged about “getting rid” of her Jamaican roommate by rubbing used tampons on her bag, pouring moldy clam dip in her lotion and putting her toothbrush inside her rectum. Brochu posted on instagram

What’s worse is she bragged about the poisoning on her social media account:

Chennel “Jazzy” Rowe, Brochu’s roommate, admits the two didn’t quite get along. In a facebook video she shares how she moved out after getting sick and feeling unwelcome in her room with Brochu:

“It started with throat pain…I thought maybe because it’s colder up here, I’m just catching a cold. After a month it got to the point where I had extreme throat pain that I couldn’t sleep, to the point where I couldn’t speak.”

Rowe goes on to explain that she was forced to spend extra money on health services, even going so far as to gain a prescription from the campus doctor to combat the bacteria in her throat.

“I’m spending my own money that my parents give me for food and groceries, the health centre on campus is not free – in fact they’re expensive.”

  1. How exactly was she poisoned? Nasty stuff but I see no mention of poison

    1. Webster definition of poison:
a :a substance that through its chemical action usually kills, injures, or impairs an organism
b (1) :something destructive or harmful (2) :an object of aversion or abhorrence

As reported in the article, Jazzy had to go to health services at her school to be treated from the effects of the roommate’s actions.
      In the video she states:
“While I’ve been here, I’ve been getting sick. Not knowing why, I’ve been getting sick. It started with throat pain. I thought maybe because it’s colder up here, I’m just probably catching a cold,” Rowe said. “The sore throat pain got worse and it was just throat pain. And this was happening for about a month. It got to the point where I had extreme throat pain where I couldn’t sleep, to the point where I couldn’t speak. Like I’d try to whisper, and I could barely whisper.”
This was due to the ongoing contamination in her room. I’m not sure why to spell this out,by the way. If the incident were just “being nasty” and not criminal, the offender would not have been locked up and released on $1,000 bail.

  2. Let me put your toothbrush where “the sun don’t shine” and you can tell me whether or not bacteria from my rectum would be detrimental to your health if you brush your teeth with it. SMDH
