I know you’re here because you want to see the pictures, and I got you. Don’t worry. But would mind indulging me for a moment? I don’t know Serena personally, of course, but when I tell you this wedding has me all in my raggedy little feelings, I kid you not. You can’t tell me that Serena and I haven’t been bffs for the last 30 years, chile. I am that happy for her.
And the reason is simple. Serena, for me, represents the power of perseverance and belief. Sure, I’m no super star athlete, but I am a a full-time entrepreneur who has, for the last 5 years, been trying to make something of myself and this raggedy little blog. I often see bloggers who’ve just started gaining opportunities I could only dream of. This, of course, is beyond frustrating. Why aren’t I winning? I often ask myself. But then I look to Serena Williams. The dark skin black girl with kinky hair whom the world never wanted to see win. Who was once, along with her sister, Venus, booed out of a stadium simply for being black. Yet here she is, almost 20 years later and she is finally having it all. Celebrity, riches, success, and a husband and a baby to boot? Listen. Serena Williams is goals and the GOAT in one, and I am here for every single bit of her shine. Do you read me? All of it. Every bit of it. Even her struggle twerkin’ has me like yasss, Serena, yasss, girl. DANCE, sis! Dance!
And dance she did at her star-studded fabulous wedding yesterday at the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans. My girl, done secured the rock, and had her perfect angel baby all up at the party.
Take a look at these pics from Vogue:
Hey, Boo! My name is Lisa and you’ve stumbled upon my own little corner of the world. I’m a 30 something-year-old writer/mother/wife who happens to love lipstick, high heels, blackness, and the truth. You’ll find a mix of everything on this site, so I won’t bore you by trying to define this space. I hope you stay awhile!
Beautiful just beautiful, and yes she deserves it.
Winning!
Beautiful photos, God bless the newlyweds
What a stunning wedding and bride! Love these stories when all the hard work and perseverance pays off!
How elegant. I didn’t realize they got married. I loved seeing their photos and all the celeb friends that attended.
Serena did not invited his dad because he has big problems and crazy.
