We already know that Mo’Nique gives no damns when it comes to calling folks out on their ish, so we weren’t exactly surprised when she released a video asking that we stand with her in a boycott against the popular streaming service, Netflix.
Side note, remember when she came for Tyler Perry and Muva Oprah? Click here for that flashback. Chile, I curse like a sailor, and even I had to clutch my pearls watching that video. Listen!
But I digress, Mo’Nique alleges that the folks at Neflix have her aaaalll the way f*cked up by trying to offer her 500k for a comedy special, meanwhile comedians like Amy Schuemer and Dave Chapelle were paid millions upon millions.
Mo’nique was basically like…do you know who I am? Do you know my resume? But the folks over at Nelfix allegedly told her, “We don’t go off of resumes”
When she asked why Schumer was worth all the extra coins, Mo’Nique says they cited Shumer’s two sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden and her hit summer movie. “ Is that not Amy Schumer’s résumé?” she clapped back.
I’m with Mo’Nique on this one, for real. $500k for an academy award-winning actress is low, really low. So hell yeah she should have called them on their ole disrespectful a$$ offer. That being sad, I’m not boycotting. Folks stay boycotting some brand every other day, and I am weary. Everyone uses the word “boycott” haphazardly and it’s essentially cheapened the actually meaning. Besides, the way my online-streaming game is set up? Nah, sis. Not today.

A spokesperson for Netflix told Page Six on Friday, “We don’t comment on contract negotiations.”
