Best Makeup For Black Women
In recent years, I’ve sort of made researching the best makeup for black women my life’s mission. As much as we can complain about the mainstream beauty industry catering to white women (and it does), the options for black women are pretty vast (even before Fenty). Options are great, but it can make it harder for us to determine what actually works with our varying skin-tones, skin types, and undertones.
As a beauty blogger we receive a ton of free products fairly regularly (which is a nice perk), but I’m not trying to be a hoarder. I want quality, not quantity, and I want to know what works. And after much careful research and consideration, I can guarantee that these three products will give you the glow you desire.

1. Becca Cosmetics Ultimate Coverage Complexion Creme
$36
This foundation is Bae. For real. It’s full coverage, so a little bit goes a long way, but it will give you smooth and glowing skin without making you look cakey. Also, it’s hypoallergenic so if you have issues with acne or sensitivity, this foundation won’t disappoint. I actually reviewed it 4 years go, and it was the perfect foundation for covering my dark spots.
Buy yours here. I wear the color Mahogany.
2. Juvia’s Place Saharan Blush Palette Vol 1. or Volume 2 $18
You already know I stan for Juvia’s place products, but if there is one product that I absolutely cannot live without it’s their blush palette
I use the volume 1 blush palette as the shades are better suited for medium to dark skin tones. You can apply any of the included colors to the apples of your cheeks for an instant lift and flush of color. The highlighters are super pretty, too. I use this palette every. single. time. I apply my makeup. Without fail. See it here for your reference:

3. Becca Cosmetics Shimmering Skin Perfector Highlighter in Opal $19-$38
I know “poppin” highlighters are all the rage, but I’m slowly going back to my old school highlighters, like the Becca highlighter in Opal. Opal provides a soft and even glow that is perfect for everyday wear or an evening out. It it really is that universal highlighter every girl needs in her collection. It is highly pigmented, but not overly shimmery or glittery. Buy the mini size HERE, mini duo HERE, or grab a complete set featuring the highlighter foundation and more HERE.
There you have it folks, three of my favorite products for a soft and glowing beat.
