Auntie Pat is that bougie rich auntie who shows up to the family gathering fashionably late and bearing gifts. She’s always chic, polished, and everything glamorous. We aspire to be like her, or at least take a piece of her home in the form of those fabulous gifts. While most of Pat McGrath Labs products have that luxury price tag to match her aesthetic, Pat has scaled back a bit on her pricing with the launch of her Spring 2018 collection. Last summer, Lisa reviewed her luxury lipsticks, whch, for the entire set, cost her well over $20o (see her review HERE.) Thankfully, The Spring Forward eyeshadow palettes (part of her Mothership series) features three palettes with 6 shades each for $55. Each palette evokes different elements of spring.
The Platinum Bronze palette contains taupes and bronze tones, with a hint of lavender, which evokes the softer side of spring. This palette puts me int he mind of the beginning of the season when the snow is melting and the flowers are blooming.
Next up is Bronze Ambition which boasts shades of copper, charcoal, and golds. This palette reminds me of the supporting role trees and soil bring to the stars of spring.
You need this palette as a great base for your more colorful palettes, but it can also stand alone as an everyday go-to.
Lastly is the popping color palette called La Vie En Rose. This one is definitely representative of the flowers that bloom in spring. They’re in full effect and ready to overload your senses! Step outside your comfort zone with shades of plum, peach, and violet.
Each of Auntie Pat’s palettes are beautifully packaged and domestic shipping is free from her website. You can also shop Sephora for the Mothership Collection (CLICK HERE) if you prefer to gather your points.
Now, I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking “Girl. I can get a 12-14 pan eyeshadow palette for that same price”. Sure you can, but you’re not going to get the same formula or quality of shadows Pat McGrath is going to provide. While you’re paying for her name, as a world renowned celebrity MUA, you’re also paying for the highly vividly saturated, emollient-like texture with pearlized pigments and multidimensional finish. You can apply these shadows with your fingers or a brush. Either way they’re poppin’! And since 10 pans from Pat cost $125, 6 pans at $55 is a pretty good deal! So let us know if you’ll be stepping into spring with Auntie Pat or nah. I sure will. In fact, I’m going for that colorful palette as a companion to my neutral palettes. How about you?
