Pantene’s Charcoal Collection Shampoo and Conditioner Review

I’m just going to cut to the chase on this one, friends. My hair has been looking dry and pretty raggedy, lately. I know I’ll never have those springy shiny curls many people envy, but I’d like to get back to at least my normal state.

Last month I even tried applying a clear glaze to give myself a shine boost to no avail. If anything, that clear glaze left my tresses looking stressed and frizzy. My hair was begging for an intervention. And as someone who blogs about beauty, I want my hair to reflect my passion for this industry. I can’t be in these streets tellin y’all about what’s good in hair and makeup if my hair looks like who done it and ran!

That being said, I was excited when the folks over at Pantene asked me to try their new Charcoal Collection’s Shampoo and Conditioner.

When you naturally possess low-luster hair, it’s easy for products to build up on the hair leaving it looking dull and lifeless. I sometimes OD on the Jamaican black castor oil (which I love), but mixed in with creams, butters, and gels, over time it can be a recipe for hair that looks like it’s collecting dust.

Dusty hair ain’t cute, y’all. At all. Needless to say, I was ready for this conditioner and shampoo to get your girl’s tresses back on track. Pantene Charcoal Collection’s Shampoo and Conditioner promised to not only help remove dirt and impurities but it also promised to reset the hair’s balance, leaving it refreshed and shiny.

While I’m here for products removing dirt and impurities, I’m not here for hair that feels stripped and “squeaky clean.” I want my hair to feel free from gunk, but I also want my hair to still feel soft. Pantene’s Charcoal system does just that. It includes a blend of pro-vitamin B5, activated charcoal, and antioxidants. The activated charcoal blend works to detox hair by attracting impurities, while releasing antioxidants. I love activated charcoal for my oily, acne-prone skin, so it makes sense to use it on my hair, too.

My hair, post shampoo and conditioner, definitely had renewed shine. See here:

My curls were poppin’, soft, and shiny before I even got out of the shower. Keep in mind, I wasn’t looking for a miracle, and you shouldn’t either. You should expect that this product will bring you back to where you started, with a little boost.

Post wash, I let my hair air-dry, then I did a Bantu knot-out on lightly blow-dryed hair.

I went easy on the products, set aside my JBCO this one time, and low and held, your girl’s girls were still poppin’ and shiny. pantene-charcoal-review

If you’re looking for a shampoo and conditioner to detox your stressed tresses I say give this duo a whirl.
