6 Beauty Tips for a Sexy Night out on the Town

Wanna get your melanin poppin’ for your next night out on the town or a date with bae? Here are seven beauty tips that you can  as you get ready to make sure you’re putting your best face forward.

Keep Your Melanin Refreshed

First off, you gotta cleanse your face at the end of the night. I know you’re tired and feeling lazy but when you don’t take the days makeup and dirt off your face it will lead to clogged pores and eventually facial breakout. You should also exfoliate in the evenings to help reduce the size of your pores and to remove dead skin cells. And don’t forget to moisturize, especially in the winter, when your skin is susceptible to dryness and cracking. One of my favorite moisturizers is the  Olay Total Effects Whips. Check it out HERE.

Have Kissable Lips

While you’re exfoliating your face be sure to include your lips. There are some great lip scrubs available in Sephora that you can check out. If you want to save a few bucks, you can make your own DIY lip scrub using honey, sugar, and vitamin E oil. Also, seek out lipsticks that moisturize while adding long wear coverage. My favorite is the Physicians Formula The Healthy Lip Velvet Liquid Lip Color (check ’em out HERE). These are pigmented, soothing, and inexpensive. Grab them HERE or at your local pharmacy.

There’s nothing worse than lipstick on cracked lips.

I just want to thank you all for forcing me to try this foundation on my IG live last week. I have oily and acne prone skin, so I almost always side-eye trying new foundations (new dark spots are unfun and messing with that Fenty foundation left me with 5 ?), but this @physiciansformula healthy elixir foundation is bae. It’s not at all mattifying but it gives you that glowing sun-kissed (not oily) finish I’ve been dying for. Also, the heavy glass bottle makes it feel like a $40 foundation (cuz I’m bougie). Their new liquid lippies are also clutch. A nice, soft matte/satin finish and pigmented, too. Yup, imma be rocking both all spring. Stay tuned for my full review of makeup you need this spring on the blog (both of these made the list). *click the link in my bio to shop this foundation under “amazon favs”* #bostonblogger ostonblogger #makeupoftheday #makeupforblackwomen #makeupforblackgirls #beautyblogger #blackgirlswhoblog

Do A Facial Mask

Exfoliating your skin is great, but it shouldn’t stop there. If you don’t have a skincare routine you need to get one, and it should include facial masks. You can do a facial mask 1-3 times a week. Masks can hydrate skin as well as remove excess oils and dead skin. They also leave your skin feeling smooth and supple.

Extend Those Lashes

Y’all know I love some good lashes, chile.  They make your eyes pop like no other (check out my favs HERE). But even if you don’t like applying falsies, it doesn’t mean you can’t make your natural lashes standout. With the right mascara, you can take your eyelashes from barely there to long and luxurious. My favorite mascara right now is Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara. Is it pricey? Yes. Is it worth every single penny? Yes and Yes.   I apply by starting at the root (bottom side of your lashes), jiggling the brush left and right then pulling up. I’ll do this two or three times making sure to take off excess mascara off the wand cause you don’t want too much, or your lashes will clump and you’ll crazy as hell.

Entice With A Sexy Fragrance

Your scent is what’s going to bring your whole look together. Apply your fragrance to your pulse points like wrists, neck, behind the ears, bottom of your throat, and behind the knees. These points are activated by body heat. If perfumes aren’t for you due to the ingredients, you can choose an all-natural body oil like this one (HERE), from the black-owned skincare line, Bolden.  Remember not too much. You may not be able to smell it but trust me others can. Define Me Fragrances are coconut oil-based, come in a variety of scents from sweet to floral, and are vegan-cruelty free. Check them out at your local Ulta Beauty or HERE.

Give Your Hair Shine

We’ve talked about your face but what about your hair? You can’t be talking about you going out and your hair looks dry and dusty. Use products that are going to give your hair moisture and shine. I recently did a 14-day hair challenge with Pantene Gold Series and it really transformed my hair. I also used Pantene’s Charcoal line that was the truth too. Other ways to keep your hair moisturized is by cutting back how much you wash it. You don’t want to dry it out. Deep condition, steam, and seal your ends. If you’re suffering from damaged hair, here are some tips to help you repair it.
