This post is sponsored by Walmart, but all thoughts are 100% my own.
Back To School Shopping in the Era of Covid 19
We have a little over 6 weeks before JB heads back to school, and we’re still a bit unclear as to what it’ll look like. Even though I know our fav, Walmart, has us covered in the school supplies department, back to school shopping this year won’t look exactly like it did before Covid-19. That being said, if there is one thing I have learned this year is that being flexible is really the only way to cope with these changes. Even if he does head into the classroom in the fall, chances are he’ll be relegated to homeschool at least part-time. This, of course, means his back to school supply list will have to be a little bit different. So these Walmart school supplies we just picked up are a bit more varied.
Affordable Walmart Back to School Fashion Finds
So while, yes, of course, Walmart indeed sponsored this post, doing this project really did introduce me o the amazing and affordable back to school fashion finds Walmart has to offer. Last year I went through sweat pants after sweat pants because 1. He grew out them quickly, and 2. for some reason, he couldn’t manage to go a month without burning a hole at the knees. Sidebar: does anyone know what in the world goes on at school that has these kids coming home like they’ve been climbing trees all day every day? Holes at the knees. Holes in the socks. Heck, holes in the shoes! It gets expensive really quickly, that’s for sure. That’s why I was more than impressed with the quality and price point of the back to school supplies we selected.
Here’s everything we snagged during our Walmart Back to School Shopping Trip. (We shopped virtually and picked up in-store to limit the amount of time we spent inside).
Tops
Fruit of the Loom Boys’ Solid Multi-Color Short Sleeve Soft V-Neck T-Shirts.
These came in a three-pack and the quality is top-notch. We already washed a few, and they came out looking good as new.
Sequin Dino T-Shirts
Like this one HERE
He’s super into dinosaurs, and these sequin tops are a big hit. I bought some sequin Dino Sweatshirts from another retailer last year, and again, they were cute, but expensive and didn’t last through the wash. Smh!
Bottoms
JB isn’t huge on skinny jeans (although I think they are stylish as can be), however, he was okay with these! They are super comfortable with tons of stretch and a drawstring waist.
These are THICK. I anticipate that we won’t have holes in the knees with these, and three for $21 bucks ain’t so bad, either.
Pull-on shorts
These came in a two-pack and will be great for the few months of fall. at $10 for two pairs you really can’t beat that price point.
Shoes
We snagged two pairs, these and these
I purchased two because as I mentioned Walmart has some great inexpensive fashion items for back to school, but also because last year I spent at least $30 for each pair of shoes and none of them lasted him longer than 3 months. They just fell apart at the seams!
Kids Reusable Face masks
These are under $4 for a pack of three, so I ordered 3 packs! He will for sure lose these, so it won’t be a big deal if he does, and they are washable/reusable.
Electronics & Educational Toys
LeapFrog, LeapReader, Learn-to-Read 10-Book Bundle, Reading System
This was such a great find. This leap reader allows your child to read along with the narrator and comes with so many books. Endless fun while also educating. I don’t have a ton of time to sit down and read with JB, so truthfully, this is a nice educational activity to help babysit for parents! You should Definitey look into it here.
Walmart Kids Tablet
I did a quick search for tablets for kids in Walmart and found this one we just ordered. I can’t wait for it to get here. While we already have a family tablet, I wanted something at a lower price point made with kids in mind. This kids’ tablet seems like a great option at a great price.
Again, we wanted something that would help him tell time, look cute, and keep him entertained. The kid’s smart watch does it all and he’s loving it! No internet needed, either.
We also grabbed the following school supplies all at a great pricepoint:
- Crayola 20 count markers
- https://rstyle.me/+hwGUsGidpRsUrbWWZAaD7A
- 5 star notebook
- Dry Erase Markers set for using our at-home dry erase board.
- Pre-sharpened Pencils
- Erasers
- Jurassic Park Back Pack and Lunchbox
PIN IT!
Back to school shopping in the era of COVID wasn’t half bad. We did all of it quickly and efficiently thanks to Walmart. I’ll be back doing the same routine next year. What can beat a one-stop trip?
